The inTouch Women’s Legal Centre provides legal assistance to clients as part of an integrative practice model, along with specialist family violence support. See below for the information on how we work.

What should you do before making a client referral?

Explain inTouch’s services to the client.
Have the client’s consent to refer.
Please note that clients requiring one day support may not be prioritised for our service.

How can you make an effective referral?

Ensure all the details are completed on inTouch’s online Client Referral Form.
Ensure cultural needs have been explored with the client and that they are requiring a culturally tailored response.
Prepare all relevant documentation to upload in online form including a MARAM, Safety Plan, etc.
Indicate level of risk and whether a referral is urgent.

How inTouch Women’s Legal Centre Works

To ensure we can provide the most appropriate and effective support for your client’s specific situation, our standard procedure requires all clients to first engage with our intake process. This initial step allows us to conduct a thorough assessment of your needs and circumstances.

Following the completion of the intake, if legal support is identified as the appropriate pathway, a request will then be made to the inTouch Women's Legal Centre.

Answer a few questions in our quick eligibility criteria checklist.

Fill and submit “Client Referral Form”. An intake worker will contact you within 5 to 10 business days.

After the assessment, if your client is identified as suitable for the program, they will be allocated to a Case Manager.

Finally, the Case Manager can refer into inTouch Women’s Legal Centre as required.
