This Community of Practice (CoP) focused on strengthening responses to men from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who use family violence.
Purpose:
The CoP aims to:
Strengthen practitioner confidence and capability in working with CALD men using violence.
Support critical reflection on:
Bias and assumptions
How to manage cultural excuses for violence
Fear of being perceived as racist
Cultural narratives that may excuse or obscure violence
Who should attend:
Family violence practitioners working with men.
Intake, Case managers and counsellors engaging with CALD men using violence.
Team leaders or practice leads in relevant services.
