The first half of the training explores the principles of culturally responsive practice, cultural humility, and intersectionality and how to apply these to practice. It explores the migration journey and unpacks some of the various issues that women from migrant and refugee backgrounds may face while accessing support in response to family violence. The second half of the training provides professionals with a deeper understanding of the multiple systemic barriers experienced by clients/families from migrant and refugee backgrounds as well as referral pathways and support available for women on temporary visas.
