This free public online training offers professionals who are not family violence specialists with foundational understanding of cultural humility, intersectionality and unconscious bias when supporting refugee and migrant clients experiencing family violence. This training is only for rural and regional professionals across Victoria. There is a cap of 3 professionals per organisation.

Join us for a curated panel exploring how to better support women from migrant and refugee backgrounds in refuge and crisis accommodation. Hear from frontline practitioners and experts as they share real-world insights, challenges, and best practices for creating inclusive, culturally safe and trauma-informed settings.

This webinar explores how social isolation during the settlement journey can create emotional and economic insecurity. It examines how loss of family networks, unfamiliar systems, and cultural dislocation affect wellbeing, confidence, and stability. The session explains how prolonged isolation increases vulnerability, dependence, and reduced help‑seeking, while highlighting the protective role of social networks.

When the system doesn’t speak your language, safety, help-seeking and justice become significantly harder to access — and the risks for Culturally and Racially Marginalised (CARM) women multiply. 

This webinar will explore how culture, migration experiences, gender norms, and systemic barriers intersect with the use of family violence. It will challenge simplified narratives that locate violence in “culture” alone, instead examining power, accountability, and the broader social context.

This session will discuss inTouch’s specialist family violence case management program- eligibility requirements, referral pathways and expected outcomes for clients. In addition, this session will also feature, Yashila De Silva, a community lawyer from inTouch's Legal Branch, speaking on the work in this space.

Our bimonthly information sessions provide an opportunity for specialist family violence, community sector and multicultural agency staff to learn about the services that inTouch provides, eligibility criteria and referral pathways. At each session, we will explore a different program and project being undertaken within inTouch, followed by a Q&A session.
