If you want to apply for a passport for your child, there are different processes depending on whether you have the other parent’s permission. These tips explain what documents you need, what to do if you don’t have a birth certificate, and what your options are if the other parent doesn’t agree.

Apply to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia for an order permitting the issue of a passport or dispensing with the other parent’s consent.
