The Royal Commission into Family Violence found that the needs of culturally diverse communities were not being adequately met by mainstream providers.

As a recognised specialist body, we help to make sure that the family violence sector is able to respond effectively to the needs of culturally diverse communities.

We do this through:

  • providing capacity building programs
  • implementing needs-based projects
  • providing expert advice
  • undertaking advocacy work.

Our capacity building programs

We offer a range of capacity building opportunities for professionals, family violence specialists, universal service providers, multicultural communities, volunteers and community members.

Our programs aim to enhance understanding and skills when working with culturally and linguistically diverse women, families and communities in the prevention and response to family violence.
