Foundations of Culturally Responsive Practice

This training is designed for community sector professionals to enhance the ability to support migrant and refugee women and their children, who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.

During the training participants will:

• Reflect on professional practice using culturally responsive practice, cultural humility, unconscious bias practices and an intersectional approach.  
• Discuss how systemic barriers and discrimination may impact on clients/families from migrant and refugee backgrounds to seek and sustain service support. 
• Apply the principles of culturally responsive practices when engaging with clients/families from migrant and refugee backgrounds experiencing multiple systemic barriers and discrimination.

Prerequisites


Please note that a consultation is required in order to book this service. All specialist training sessions require completion of the Culturally Responsive Practice program as a prerequisite.
