This training supports community sector professionals to strengthen their skills in applying intersectional practice to family violence risk assessment and management. It focuses on working with clients and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds, while embedding MARAM responsibilities and culturally responsive practice.
The program is designed for practitioners working at the MARAM Intermediate and Comprehensive levels.
This training offers an applied and reflective space for practitioners to:
• Refresh knowledge of MARAM responsibilities, with a focus on risk assessment and management for clients/families from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
• Practice using Structured Professional Judgement to identify and manage family violence risk in diverse contexts.
• Explore how systemic barriers, migration status, and cultural factors influence client safety and service engagement.
• Consider how to align organisational policies and practice guidance with an intersectional approach to MARAM (optional)
