16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence runs from 25th November on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10 December on Human Rights Day.

This year, inTouch partnered with Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria and Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health to promote respect and call out assumptions about violence against migrant and refugee women.

We developed four digital tiles to encourage conversations about respect in your community- download them in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, English, Hindi, Karen and Vietnamese

Please always share two social media tiles at the same time:

  1. The message
  2. Information about Family Violence services people can contact if they or someone they know is experiencing abuse.

Are you or someone you know experiencing abuse?

If you are in immediate danger, please call 000.

If you are experiencing abuse, call TIS on 131 450 and ask them to call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732, or Safe Steps on 1800 015 188. Both services are open 24 hours.

You can also contact inTouch for confidential support in your language on 1800 755 988.

For men’s support in your language, call TIS on 131 450 and ask them to call Men’s Referral Service on 1300 766 491.

This partnership is supported by the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), and is a part of Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2020 Campaign, Respect Women: Call it Out.

A big thank you to Vivienne da Silva for her illustrations and designs.
