Senior Intake Practitioner

The Senior Specialist Family Violence Intake Practitioner will provide professional support, advice, direction and leadership to the inTouch intake team. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the day-to-day efficient operation of the intake services including continuous improvement of intake systems and processes, managing service demand, responding to internal and external queries, and requests for secondary consultation. They will also carry out intake direct service delivery. They are not responsible for the direct line management or supervision of intake staff.

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence (inTouch) provides person-centred, integrated and culturally responsive family violence services to people from migrant and refugee communities across Victoria. We have assisted over 20,000 women and children experiencing family violence throughout our 38 years of operation, providing a holistic service that centres the experiences of victim-survivors in everything we do.

inTouch works across the family violence continuum, providing culturally informed early intervention, case management, programs for men who use violence, legal advice, crisis recovery and enhanced capacity-building across the sector and community. We are proud to provide high-level leadership and guidance to all levels of government with our evidence-based, victim-survivor informed advocacy and policy work.

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

You will hold a tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor level) in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related discipline and have an understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and its impact on victim survivors and their children.

The senior, specialised level of this role will require the ability to be able to reflect and analyse complex situations arising in specialist family violence casework and the commitment to working collaboratively with the capacity to negotiate and liaise with other agencies and the community.
