A huge thank you to those who were able to come along and help celebrate an incredible milestone with us last month – our 35th anniversary.
It was great to have the Minister for Prevention of Family Violence, Minister for Women, and Minister for Youth, Gabrielle Williams, attend our event and speak so highly of the role we play within the family violence response system in Victoria.
There was a buzz and real celebratory energy in the room from members of the sector, our supporters and inTouch team. It’s hard to believe that since 1984, we’ve helped 18,000+ women from migrant and refugee backgrounds experiencing family violence. A proud moment for all involved, past and present.
Our newly appointed Chair of the Board of Directors, Miriam Silva, was thrilled to have her first official function in the role be one of such celebration and acknowledgement of the work we do.
It was such a fantastic opportunity to reflect on how far we have come as an organisation, the impact we have made and the role we play nationally as voices for refugee and migrant communities experiencing family violence.
The video we showed on the night (below) really captured some of our journey and was a great opportunity to hear from some of our staff.
We were so delighted to announce our former Board of Directors Chair, Faye Spiteri, as our Patron for inSpire. The initiative is a first for inTouch, expanding our level of support outside of our government funding to former inTouch clients, helping them move beyond family violence, build their economic independence and reconnect with the community.
There were so many candid moments captured on the night which we are happy to share with you. See the full event photo gallery here.
